this week, i hung out with the bradleys several times! on a whim, we went to see coco at the pleasure chest. less than 8 hours notice, i love it. after, we went to eat at mel's diner on sunset. good times, we do not do that often enough. things might be turning around though. im hoping we kick it and go places more.
yesterday was jennifers long awaited, softball tournament. i got a late start and missed her first game...daaammmit! but it was fun, there were like 5 teams.
aft end, jennifer's team, lost both games. it was their first year and they are a new team. they seemed to have fun together, so that's what counts.
all the events were for BLOODY THURSDAY, which i learned about yesterday. on july 5, 1934, dock workers were on strike and the police tried to storm them and force the port open. the police got met with much resistance. the picketers threw rocks and teargas cannisters at the police. several picketers were killed in the melee. now every year, the west coast ports close down in memory of those that gave their life to work on the docks!
