turtle...turtle!

today i was subbing in the 1st grade class! i love it how folks dont leave a lesson plan, then i have free reign to do whatever. we are studying amphibians and reptiles this week. sooooo...hence the turtle. i was over the bowl and paper plate turtle and even just plain coloring one. being the creative beast i am, i had them finger/hand paint them. the turtles shell is a palm print and all the legs, head and tail were done with finger prints or smudges. i was so proud. i love art projects where they all look somewhat different and its ok for them to do what they feel. no wrong or right way!! we didnt draw the faces on yet because they were still wet. arent they cuuuuuuuute??
