applicious...

what a day. a whole day of apples! the sister sibs and i went to oak glen for the day to go apple picking. mind you, we did not go into the actual orchard with the picking pole. but we did "select" our own apples from inside the shops! lol i also did get to witness how cider is made with a press. pretty low tech. puree some apples and squeeze allll the juice out. the left over shmutz was pretty gross. but the cider is oh so tasty. i bought some raspberry apple cider. best stuff ever. i also had some mini donuts made in apple cider oil. YUM!

these orchards had everything imaginable. not to mention so many apples that i have never heard of. apple butter, apple cider, apple juice, apple jelly, apple rings, apple crisp, apple pie, apple preserves, etc. YIKES! i bought to of my favorite apples of the day; honey crisp and winesap. they did not have my favorite pink lady apples. they were not ready to be picked yet. DAMMIT!

what a fun day trip! :)

Mr. Wonderful eats pink lady apples, and cameo. I love apple orchards. We have some in east TN. It's amazing all the things they make. Apple butter on hot biscuits is GOOD!!!

I'm glad you had such a fun day!!
